Description

The temperature of a surface rises tremendously due to the accumulated heat when it absorbs solar energy and the excessive temperature rise causes excessive heat transfer beneath the surface. When there is a temperature difference between the outside of a room and the inside of the room, the heat transfer occurs. That’s the reason why the temperature inside a room becomes warmer in winter or becomes hotter in summer after sunrise, and on the other hand, the room temperature become colder in winter or become cooler in summer after sunset. We generally use air conditioners to maintain the suitable temperature, but it consumes too much energy.

High temperature is not good to store food, vegetables, fruits, and medicines. Very high temperature also causes thermal expansion and thermal stress, which will lead to cracking, corrosion, and deterioration of the exposed surface. High temperatures can also cause potential hazards in the case of storage tanks of oil, gas and chemicals; hence they are continuously kept cooled by using large coolers which cost a lot of energy wastage. Thus, large amounts of energy are being used to adjust the proper temperature in industrial, commercial and residential areas. What if the object is covered by some things which can reflect most of the solar radiations? Ultimately there would be less heat on the surface and eventually less heat transfer beneath.
